General Services Administration

General Services Administration (GSA)

First and foremost, GSA is General Services Administration, which is the overarching body for the GSA contract and federal government resources procurement and management.

While GSA provide government-owned facilities, historical property and fleets of government vehicles; people know them for the Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) system. The goal of MAS system and the GSA Program is to exploit the tremendous procurement power of the federal government to facilitate more streamlined agreements with commercial entities.

The General Services Administration contract support federal employee in the purchase of goods and services which involves pre-negotiated rates, terms of delivery, guarantees and a variety of other terms and conditions.

Furthermore, A GSA Contract, recognized as a Federal Supply Schedule, is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), Long-term MAS system contract. A GSA contract is a five-year contract based on the commercial discount structure of a particular company.

Although it’s good for the first five years, the GSA contract also includes three five-year extension periods. This means that your organization might have a GSA contract for up to 20 years.

How can a GSA contract benefit your company?

The rigorous vetting process  also involved with securing a GSA contract would prove to every federal, state or local purchaser that you are a well-established company and that you have the ability to deliver the goods and/or services which you want to offer to the government.

In addition, the prizes awarded under the GSA contract have already been considered to be of fair and reasonable value and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The process reduces the cycle of evaluation and seeks to eliminate the complex and long process of RFP and negotiation.

The following entities are eligible to purchase from a General Services Administration contract:

  • Federal and executive agencies.
  • Government contractors authorized to buy on behalf of federal and executive agencies.
  • Government of the District of Columbia.
